When my sister got engaged our family had only a month to pull off a wedding. We are blessed to have so many people in our family who are so creative and skilled at making anything they put their minds to that almost every little detail of this wedding was a homemade DIY. Banff is one of the most beautiful places on earth, it is rich with history and breathtaking views. It also happens to be the home of our mom, Lucia, who is the manager of The Elkhorn Lodge, a popular lodge in the area and also the venue for this wedding.
The Groom’s family came all the way from Los Angeles, California and his father, Rev Dong Joon Kim from The Light of Life Church, officiated the wedding.
Words from the Bride: We are grateful to have had such a wonderful supportive family and friends. We wanted a simple and small wedding for us to enjoy with our close friends and relatives. Our family went above and beyond to help us have exactly what we wanted. We couldn’t have done this with out them! I am amazed and grateful at how hard everyone worked to make our wedding happen in such short amount of time. I want to thank my mother Lucia, my sister Carolina, my aunt Ximena, and my uncle John for all the hard work and labor they put into planning, decorating and setting up the whole event. I want to thank my in-laws for helping us with most of the expenses, as well as my father-in-law Rev Dong Kim for giving us such a incredible and heart touching wedding ceremony. A huge thanks to Chef Gerardo for the most delicious food, my cousin Juan for being such awesome DJ, and everyone else who gave us a hand.
